Loving Black Single Mothers

Objective:

To help Loving Black Single Mothers build a flourishing ecosystem that nourishes and supports Black single mothers and their families, and to equip the organization with a digital presence and visual communication system that empowers them to change the narrative around Black single motherhood—while inviting and encouraging the collective to stand in solidarity (not charity) with Black single mothers.

Working in collaboration with Toi Marie Smith, the founder of Loving Black Single Mothers, we crafted a vibrant brand identity that reflects the world we know is possible for Black single mothers. We also created a web experience that centers the experience of Black single mothers on the site—immediately welcoming them in to a space that is made just for them.

Financial Partners are invited to experience what it feels like to see Black single mothers centered throughout various brand touch points, and are encouraged to become part of the LBSM ecosystem by taking meaningful, love-inspired action: financial support, education (see: Loving Beyond Stereotypes), and awareness building in their own communities.
